Our team

Ken Sushi

Currently, our team consists for a big part of family members, completed by some very valuable colleagues who have now become part of our (Ken Sushi) family too.
Ken, Tom, Sky, and Nid train the staff themselves. Many team members joined with little or no experience. We value motivation and hospitality over experience. Anyone who is eager to learn, a hard worker, enjoys their work, work with passion, and fits into our team, is given the opportunity to grow and gain experience at Ken Sushi. Just as we were once given that opportunity, ultimately enabling us to turn our passions into our profession. Ken always says, "I'd rather teach someone something new than unlearn a lot of skills," and so our team has become a great mix of experienced and aspiring professionals.

In 2019, Ken and his wife Bee started the restaurant, and soon after, brother Tom and nephew Sky joined. For years, the three of them ran the restaurant together, eventually adding an additional chef and a weekend front-of-house staff member. It wasn't until we moved into our own location on Geldersekade in 2023 that our team grew in a short time to what it is today. Ken and Tom expanded and trained the chef team, Sky provided and trained a welcoming front-of-house team, and sister-in-law Nid joined to manage everything in and around the kitchen. The benefit of a bigger team is that Ken finally has more time now to focus on the creative process and culinary development of new menus again. With this amazing team we are dedicated to making your evening at Ken Sushi an enjoyable and successful experience!
